You had to wait for two weeks for some news, but believe me, these last few weeks felt like months to me! Packing all those last things, the actual moving and getting in order in the new house and being able to live here.... It's only been two weeks, but it was too long to my taste.

In the mean time we've been living here for over a week and it's already feeling like a home. Silly enough it's only the bedroom that still feels like a hotelroom or something, but the livingroom is just as we pictured it; cozy, homy and warm. The woodburner has done its work for a few evenings already and eventhough there's a lot to be done, it feels good.
I only painted half a wall in the livingroom, only because that's where the display-cabinets had to go and we didn't want to be shoving those around too much. There is still much to be painted - all the walls, doors, trim and ceilings in every room! - but I'll just take it one room at the time. It could be a very long time before everything is really done, but funny enough I'm not really bothered by that.

Zij hebben gewoon iets meer tijd nodig om aan dit huis te wennen denk ik en dat is prima.
My furry babies are a complete different story all together. Bram is already rather at ease, since the second day actually, but Cees and Arie are very tense and scared, jump at every sound and during the day they hide in the bedroom or on the mezzanine. I feel so sorry for them, but we just let them be. This isn't something you can force. In the evening, when we sit down to relax, they come out of hiding and want to cuddle and play and it all seems so normal. When we go to bed they love to cuddle up on the blankets and in the night move to the basket on the foot of the bed, to the chair with the clothes or under the bed to sleep.
They just need a little more time to get used to this house I guess and that's okay.
Today the driveway for Henk his big rig was constructed, so it too has his own place when Henk is home during the weekends. Henk has one week of vacation left. Next week, when he'll go back to work, he will get his brand new truck. I don't think he will be thát sad to go back to work.....
