It goes to shows again that the more things I have on my mind or the more things there are to be made, I just jam and there is nothing coming out of my hands. I always prefered working on only one thing at a time. This way I can give it my whole attention and energy. The past few weeks I was simply too busy with too many things at once and did nothing really to my liking. So, I cleaned out my desk, put stuff away and start from the beginning. First up, finishing the flower of buddleia.
I got stuck with making the leaves. Somehow it didn't go the way I wanted, but after thinking a bit and adjusting some things it was done in minutes. Attached the leaves and one job was done. Than I took out all of the little flowers, arranged them and just began with attaching them on the filled up base. By using that purple 'sausage' as a base you imidiatly get the nice full round shape, without having to 'stack' too many flowers and if there was a hole here and there, you will see no light background . Yeah, there's been done some thinking ahead here....
Put on a butterfly and gave it some antennae as a finishing touch and the top is ready!! Well, not quite actually. In the upper little branch I want to fix some purple beads, being a flower-in-the-making-filled-with-bulbs, if you get what I mean. I'll show you when I scoored some big beautiful beads.
The next job; pink little flowers for a quilt on commission. These flowers are very popular and despite the load of work that goes in making them I really like making them. This next flower quilt will become another hydrangea, but also a different kind of lay out. Maybe vase or bowl where they are lying in???? I'll have time enough to think about that while making the pink pretties.
